All you want to know about the Experience

About the experience

If you’re curious about the life that exists within the timid blue waters of the sea, then we have an experience for you that’s definitely worth checking out. The island of Netrani, which lies just 10 nautical miles off the coast of Karnataka, is a popular location for scuba diving enthusiasts. The island forms the shape of a heart when seen from above, giving it the name Heart Shape Island. With naturally formed coral reefs all along the coastline, the waters here are teeming with varieties of butterfly fish, parrot fish, trigger fish, eel and shrimp Divers have also often claimed to have spotted wild orcas and whale sharks around the island.

This diving course is primarily aimed at those who are ready to dip their toes into the world of scuba diving for the first time. Whether you’re a natural swimmer or someone who’s a little jittery around water, our instructors make it their mission to elevate your skills and introduce you to the exhilarating experience of wading through the deep blue sea. Scuba diving in Netrani is only recommended for those who are reasonably fit and older than the age of 10.

The day begins with a briefing on the basics of scuba diving and a look into the equipment you will be using. Following this, take a boat ride to the island where you will begin practicing in shallow waters to learn to control your breathing underwater. Once the instructors are confident in your abilities, they will take you to the dive spot where you plunge down to almost 12 m deep. As you swim through the blue waters, take notice of the diverse wildlife below the surface. From schools of fish to reefs of colourful coral, get introduced to a whole new world.

The instructors will keep a close watch on you during the dive, making sure you never leave their sight. Dives can last generally for 30-40 minutes, however, it all depends on your breathing ability and comfort level underwater. From 8 am till 4:30 pm, the waters offer clear visibility. You’ll also be able to take a short video of your dive underwater with the cameras provided by the instructors. At an additional charge per head, longer videos can be taken too.

If after your dive, you feel yourself craving for another, you can take to the waters again at extra charge, based on the availability of the guides. So, come and strap on a scuba tank, a pair of flippers, and goggles and experience this unique world below the sea!
