All you want to know about the Experience
The Cauvery River is a beautiful Indian river that flows through the states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, rising from the Talakaveri in the Brahmagiri range in the Western Ghats. During its course, it passes gorges, waterfalls, rapids and thickets of dense forest. If you’re looking for a nature stay near this majestic river, the Bheemeshwari Adventure and Nature Camp, situated just two hours from the city of Bangalore, combine what you love most, adventure and the untamed beauty of the wilderness for an experience that keeps you coming back for more!
The camp offers adventure activities that range from zip-lining, kayaking, and rope-walking. Are you a naturalist at heart? Go on jungle treks that allow you to spot elephants, deer, crocodiles, turtles, snakes, and around two hundred bird species. The main draw of this lovely camp is the Mahseer, the largest tropical gamefish known to man. Although you can’t catch this spectacular silvery fish, sighting it alone will give you a thrill as you watch it swim rapidly through the greenish-blue waters.
The best season to visit the camp is just after the monsoon season, between August and February when the river is at its peak and the surrounding greenery is luxuriant, bright, and green with new shoots and leaves. For birdwatchers, this post-monsoon season allows you to catch sight of vibrantly coloured birds as they flit in and out of the tree branches. River terns, fishing eagles, woodpeckers, kingfishers, and other water birds flock to the banks of the Cauvery and invite you to spend long hours, watching them flutter or simply resting in this enchanting environment.
