About Bheemeshwari Adventure and Nature Camp

The Cauvery River is a beautiful Indian river that flows through the states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, rising from the Talakaveri in the Brahmagiri range in the Western Ghats. During its course, it passes gorges, waterfalls, rapids and thickets of dense forest. If you’re looking for a nature stay near this majestic river, the Bheemeshwari Adventure and Nature Camp, situated just two hours from the city of Bangalore, combine what you love most, adventure and the untamed beauty of the wilderness for an experience that keeps you coming back for more!

The camp offers adventure activities that range from zip-lining, kayaking, and rope-walking. Are you a naturalist at heart? Go on jungle treks that allow you to spot elephants, deer, crocodiles, turtles, snakes, and around two hundred bird species. The main draw of this lovely camp is the Mahseer, the largest tropical gamefish known to man. Although you can’t catch this spectacular silvery fish, sighting it alone will give you a thrill as you watch it swim rapidly through the greenish-blue waters.

The best season to visit the camp is just after the monsoon season, between August and February when the river is at its peak and the surrounding greenery is luxuriant, bright, and green with new shoots and leaves. For birdwatchers, this post-monsoon season allows you to catch sight of vibrantly coloured birds as they flit in and out of the tree branches. River terns, fishing eagles, woodpeckers, kingfishers, and other water birds flock to the banks of the Cauvery and invite you to spend long hours, watching them flutter or simply resting in this enchanting environment.

What customers are saying:

  • Must say, one of the best jungle experiences i have had. The property is simple and goes with a jungle theme by keeping the architecture minimalistic. We stayed in the Log Hut with the beautiful view of the Cauvery River. The mornings are beautiful and nights peaceful. The staff is excellent and very, very polite. Hospitality has been great. Food is basic and simple but we liked the breakfast the most. All in all a wonderful place to stay amidst nature.
  • Spending at least 2 days to soak in the nature along Kaveri river is recommended. Apart from the beautiful flora and fauna which varies from season to season, we were lucky to see beautiful birds and a few huge crocodiles in the river - a sight to behold.
  • We had an awesome experience at Jungle Lodges. The hospitality was amazing, the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the river and the surrounding forests. We stayed in the mud-cottage which was cozy, comfortable, clean and well-maintained. We loved sitting on the front porch of the cottage, enjoying the nature. We were accompanied to the dinner and other activities by the staff, so no difficulties at all in the evening. The activities were fun-filled and taken care of by the amazing staff members. The best part was the coracle ride in the river where the staff told us the names of all the birds we saw.
  • The experience at Jungle lodges at Bheemeshwari was amazing. We took the Cauvery Panorama package that included a wooden cottage facing the river and quite close to it. The view from the room was superb. The cleanliness and hygiene in the room was maintained at extremely high standards. The place provided both adrenaline rush and relaxation through adventure activities, trekking and coracle ride/kayaking. Safety was well taken care of all through the activities and stay. Food (veg) was delicious too. Overall a great place to visit and enjoy a weekend amidst the nature.

  • Don’t forget to carry your hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and torch.

What adventure activities are available at the camp?

Adventure activities such as Zip-line, Burma Loops, Parallel Walk, Cat Walk, Elephant Walk, Rappelling, Pool Kayaking, Nature Walk, and a Coracle Ride are available at the camp.

Is it okay if I carry plastic items to the camp?

What is the best season to visit the Bheemeshwari Adventure and Nature Camp?

The best time to visit is just after the monsoons, between August and February, when the river is alive and the forest is thick and verdant. This is the best time for birdwatching as well – river terns, fishing eagles, wood peckers, kingfishers and other water birds flock here. During the other months, the water recedes and reveals wide sand banks, which are great for idling away the evening. The summer months (March – June) can be very warm, especially in the afternoon.
