All you want to know about the Experience
This enchanting island is the only major island in Goa not connected by road. Surrounded by Old Goa and Raibandar, the Island of Dveepvattika or Divar was once home to beautiful temples of Goa, including the Saptkoteshwar Temple which housed the family deity of the Kadambas. Its history speaks of a rich heritage as it was one of the first places captured by the Portuguese when they invaded Goa. Divar has many stories embedded in its rugged topography to share with travellers.
We embark on the Divar exploration, uncovering major religious monuments on the island, unveiling mysteries such as a clean-cut rock cave and a charming temple pond that was created nearly thousand years ago. Away from the throngs of tourists that flock to Goa, this island will leave you astounded by its undisturbed beauty. The trail takes you to the home of a local host who will give you local guidance on the different types of Goan Feni to quench your thirst. Later, you make your way to a delightful man-made lake where you can splash about in its hidden depths or try your hand at fishing!
