All you want to know about the Experience
Over the years, we’ve discovered many of Mother Nature’s secrets on land. From tiny wildflowers that blossom away from civilization, to craggy cliffs that seem to pierce the sky, mankind has been almost everywhere, except for one place —the ocean. More than 80% of our ocean is unmapped and unexplored, but when we dive beneath the cresting waves of the ocean, we catch a rare glimpse of the mysterious realm underneath.
Chennai is the capital of Tamil Nadu and a bustling coastal city that faces the Bay of Bengal. The vast Bay of Bengal is the largest water region called a bay in the world and beneath its shimmering surface is a wealth of aquatic wildlife that will enthrall any outdoors enthusiast. This aquatic realm is filled with delicate jellyfish with frail tendrils, manta rays swimming serenely under the curling waves, and vibrantly coloured anemones thriving on the ocean bed.
If you love scuba diving, then we know you’re itching to get under the water without an instructor by your side. This Open Water Course is an entry-level comprehensive certification course, and it certifies you to dive up to 18m without professional supervision. The course consists of academic training, confined water training, and 4 Open Water Dives. You can choose to complete the first two parts (and then doing the 4 Open Water Dives in Andamans, in Sri Lanka, or in a destination of your choosing), or the entire course in Chennai itself. The training is offered near Kovalam, on ECR, in Chennai.
So why should you get certified? Scuba Diving has taken off around the world, and when you book a package to a scuba diving destination, you’ll often be offered a Try Scuba/Intro to Scuba program. This is a great way to be introduced to scuba diving, but if you are certified, it transforms your game to a whole new level. You’ll be eligible to go diving in ‘wilder’ sites and you can go a lot deeper if you want. A big added bonus is that because you have the skills and training, you are better able to control your dive and have a better awareness of your surroundings and how to navigate them. This makes the program more thrilling and you can also see a larger variety of aquatic wildlife than what you’d see in the ‘Intro to Scuba’ dive sites.
