Located just 24 km from Chikmagalur, Gonakal has a history of more than 700 years and has been the home of six generations of the royal family during the reign of the Hoysalas.
Constructed out of warm red brick, Gonakal was also once visited by Tipu Sultan and a famous temple dedicated to the victorious warriors of the past is near this beautiful homestay.
Sip on freshly ground coffee as you listen to the gentle sound of streams flowing down the valleys or watch the clouds float by in the ocean of blue that hangs over this spacious homestay.
